MOBILE DEVICE TRENDS AFFECT HR COMMUNICATIONS

The International Data Corporation (IDC) forecasts that nearly three-quarters of the total U.S. workforce will be “mobile”—that is, workers whose workplace is occasionally or primarily on location, in the field, or otherwise variable—by 2020.

Health care workers represent the largest segment of this mobile workforce, and manufacturing, construction, sales, and retail industries also contribute large shares to this population.

Engaging these so-called “deskless” workers is crucial to the effectiveness of corporate communications. Providing communications that are available on and optimized for the mobile devices these people already use—and likely check more than 75 times per day—is a critical component of modern employee training strategies, including:

  • Targeted messaging and content tailored to role, geography, and demographics
  • Interactive, multichannel microlearning (mobile apps, text, social media, videos, webinars)
  • Flexibility to access communications virtually by aremote workforce
  • Analytic tools to measure performance and engagement, and adjust communication strategies accordingly

We can help engage all your employees, whether they’re in the office or in the field.
